A 3-day, hands-on cybersecurity bootcamp for 227 participants, hosted at Ilorin Innovation Hub with support from CcHub and IIH. 392 people applied for 227 spots.

What Happened

  • Day One: Threat landscapes, Linux fundamentals, and networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP vs HTTPS), capped by a live password-cracking demo with John the Ripper.
  • Day Two: Offensive fundamentals — SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and Nmap-based asset discovery — followed by hands-on attacks against Vulnbank, a deliberately vulnerable banking application, and a Google Dorking demo on finding exposed data hiding in plain sight.
  • Day Three: The Cyber Kill Chain, AI’s growing role in phishing and deepfakes, developing an attacker’s mindset, career roadmaps across Red Team / Blue Team / GRC, home lab setup with VirtualBox and Kali, and how to get started in bug bounty.

Activities

  • Live hash-cracking and offensive security demos
  • Hands-on labs against a deliberately vulnerable target application
  • Talks on the attacker’s mindset and AI-driven threats
  • Career roadmap and home lab guidance
  • Networking with facilitators and fellow participants

64% of Day 1 attendees returned for Day 3, with over 60% completing all three days.
